2016 San Juan Islands Research Expedition
The Project
During the months of July and August of 2016, three teams of researchers sailed, hiked, and swam the San Juan Islands archipelago to research and develop a Field Guide to the 120+ islands. These wild, rugged islands contain a diversity of habitats and ecosystems, wildlife, plants, marine life, tidal pools, and a cultural history of Native American and European colonization.
